At Events.com, we’re always looking for ways to make event management easier and more efficient. Our Copy Event feature allows you to quickly replicate the setup of a live or recently completed event—saving you time and effort.
When should I use this feature?
This is especially helpful if you’re:
- Hosting the same event in multiple locations
- Running an event series
- Organizing an annual event
Once you’ve created a successful event, you can copy it as many times as needed—no need to start from scratch each time.
How to copy an event
- Log In to your Events.com account and find the event card for the event you want to copy.
- If the event you want to copy doesn’t appear, use the tabs (All, Live, Draft, Completed) to find it.
- Click the Copy Event icon in the top right corner of the event card.
- After you copy the event:
- Name your event – The default will be “Copy of [event name],” but you can edit it right away or later under the Edit tab.
- Set the date and time – Dates and times will auto-populate based on the previous event but can be adjusted anytime.
- Choose the organization – If you manage multiple organizations, you can copy an event from one and apply it to another. Handy, right?
What is copied from original event?
Here’s what’s included when you copy an event (when applicable):
- Registration/Tickets (including all advanced settings, inventory, pricing, restrictions, etc.)
- Form questions
- Waivers
- Languages
- Tax Settings
- Analytics tracking code
- Banner image
- Location
- Event visibility toggle
- Event description
- Event website and social media URLs (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter)
- Purchases (Attendee items and Other Stuff)
- Team settings
- Admin user permissions (Owners retain full access; others will need to be re-added manually)
Note that if you copy an event from a different organization, it will be assigned to the new organization, and only that organization's users will have access.
What is not copied from original event?
The following items will not be copied over:
- Promo Codes (global and event specific)
- Receive funds/payment account (The account information is copied, but the account needs to be re-selected to use)
- Note: If copying across organizations, payment info will not carry over.
- Giving settings
- Confirmation messages
- Post-registration settings (for Event Goers)
- Registration/Ticket start and end dates (adjust these manually by clicking the gear icon in the Registration/Ticket section)
Pro Tip: Copying an event does not automatically make it LIVE. Be sure to review all event details and manually set it live when you’re ready to start accepting registrations.
